The Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly held a Special Meeting on 4th May 2026 to elect a Presiding Member. This followed an earlier meeting on 22nd April 2026 which did not produce a successful candidate, as the sole nominee secured 4 “Yes” votes and 10 “No” votes, falling short of the required 12 “Yes” votes.
At the Special Meeting, the immediate past Presiding Member, who was the candidate, once again did not obtain the required number of votes to retain the position.
A new date and time will be communicated in due course for fresh nominations and elections.
