Hon Rev. Dr. Kweku Addo, (Ablekuma West MP ) Leads Wheelchair Donation to PWDs in Ablekuma West
The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Rev. Dr. Kweku Addo, has led a humanitarian initiative that saw the distribution of nearly 100 wheelchairs to persons with disabilities (PWDs) across the Ablekuma West Constituency, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Accra East and Hope the Chair.
The intervention, driven by the MP’s commitment to inclusive and people-centred development, seeks to ease mobility challenges and improve the quality of life of PWDs within the municipality.
The donation ceremony was graced by the President of the Rotary Club of Accra East and attended by representatives from Trust Hospital, Dansoman Polyclinic, Mrs. Diana Twum, and other key community and institutional stakeholders.
Addressing the gathering, Rev. Dr. Kweku Addo underscored the importance of strategic partnerships in responding to the needs of vulnerable groups, noting that leadership must be measured by its impact on lives.
Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt appreciation to the MP and his partners, describing the support as life-changing and a source of renewed dignity and independence.
The initiative further highlights Rev. Dr. Kweku Addo’s proactive leadership and dedication to easing the burdens of persons with disabilities while bringing hope and smiles to families across Ablekuma West.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ablekuma West, Hon. George E. Kpakpo Allotey, led a delegation of key officials on an inspection visit to assess the recent delivery and stock of Nkokɔ Nkitinkiti birds received by the Assembly. The team included the Coordinating Director, Municipal Finance Officer, Auditor, Physical Planning Director, and the Agric Director.
The inspection focused on verifying the quantity received, allocation arrangements, and the condition of the birds. In total, 10,000 birds were delivered to the Assembly. Although a few mortalities were recorded during transportation, officials confirmed that the majority are in good health and responding well to care.
The visit formed part of efforts to ensure proper monitoring and accountability before distribution. The birds are expected to be distributed soon to selected homes and farms, in line with the vision of H.E. President John Dramani Mahama to support livelihoods and strengthen local agricultural production.
Officials expressed satisfaction with the current condition of the stock and indicated that preparations are underway to commence distribution in due course.
first meeting of Dansoman south $ north zonal councils

The Dansoman South & North Zonal Councils of the Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly held its first meeting of the year on Tuesday, 28th January, 2026.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders in the municipality, including the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Mr. Setsoafia Kpenu, Madam Stella Azumah, Municipal Finance Officer, Administrators for both Councils and the Councillors.
Discussions centered on developmental priorities for the Zonal Councils, with emphasis on community engagement, sanitation, and infrastructural planning. Mr. Kpenu emphasized the Assembly’s commitment to strengthening local governance and promoting participatory development at the zonal level.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to work together toward the socio-economic growth of Ablekuma West Municipality at large.
