MCE’S COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

During this public accountability forum at the Dansoman Trinity Presbyterian Church, the MCE presented updates on key community metrics and structural developments:

  • Flood Risk Reductions: The Assembly detailed its extensive desilting and dredging operations at Otojor and surrounding areas. to safeguard communities in the event of heavy rains.
  • Infrastructure & Roads: Progress reports were given on ongoing inner-community road leveling and pothole patching along major transit link roads to ease traffic congestion.
  • Safety & Logistics: The MCE announced the successful repair and replacement of broken streetlights along high-density public roads to curb nighttime crime and improve road safety.
  • Physical development: The MCE Informed them of the various physical development in the areas of Health, Education etc.
  • Open Dialogue: The floor was opened to residents, church representatives, and local traders to raise specific issues concerning the services and responsibilities of the Assembly.

MOTORBIKE AND TRICYCLE DONATION

The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West, Hon. Rev. Kweku Addo, in collaboration with the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. George Kpakpo Allotey, has donated four (4) motorbikes and three (3) tricycles to selected youth groups in Mpoase.

Sod cutting for the construction of 18-unit classroom block at Ebenezer Secondary School

The sod-cutting ceremony at Ebenezer Senior High School (popularly known as Padua) in Dansoman, Accra, marked a major infrastructural milestone for the school. The event officially launched the construction of a new 18-unit classroom The ceremony was attended by key personalities including the Member of Parliament for the Area Hon. Rev. Dr. Kweku Addo (Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West), the Municipal Chief Executive Hon. George Emmanuel Kpakpo Alootey, traditional leaders,  school management, and representatives of the Ebenezer Old Students Association (Paduans). Hon. Rev. Dr. Kweku Addo (Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West) delivered the keynote speech and led the ceremonial breaking of the ground. .School Management & Board of Governors were present to receive the contractors and express appreciation for the intervention

The completion of this block will trigger an academic elevation for the school, upgrading Ebenezer Senior High School from a Category “C” to a Category “B” institution.

Back to School: MCE Welcomes Fresh Pupils on “My First Day at School” Tour, Distributes Learning Materials

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. George Emmanuel Kpakpo Allotey led a high-powered delegation to tour several public basic schools across the municipality today, marking the official commencement of the new academic year and the celebration of the annual “My First Day at School” initiative.

The annual exercise is a key government intervention designed to welcome, motivate, and integrate new learners—particularly those entering Kindergarten (KG) and Basic One—into the formal educational system.

Accompanied by the Municipal Presiding Member Hon. Mike Bannerman Hall, Director of Education, Mr. Aforla, other Assembly officials, and traditional leaders, the MCE visited multiple school campuses to assess teacher attendance, evaluate infrastructural readiness, and directly interact with the enthusiastic new learners.

To make their transition into school memorable and exciting, the MCE distributed essential educational packages and treats to hundreds of fresh pupils. The items included:

  • Exercise books, drawing books, and pencils
  • Boxes of crayons and erasers
  • School bags and basic uniforms
  • Healthy fruit juices, biscuits, and confectionery

Speaking to the children, the MCE offered words of encouragement, urging them to stay focused and dream big.

PROJECT INSPECTION

INSPECTION OF ST. AUGUSTINE BASIC SCHOOL VERTICAL EXTENTION BLOCK

The leadership of the Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly, together with Heads of Departments, has inspected the ongoing vertical extension of a three-unit classroom block at St. Augustine School
The project is aimed at providing additional classroom space and improving the learning environment for pupils.
The inspection focused on assessing the progress of work and ensuring that construction is carried out in accordance with the required standards and timelines.
pon completion, the vertical extension will increase the school’s instructional space while making efficient use of the existing infrastructure.
The inspection forms part of the Assembly’s continuous monitoring of development projects to ensure timely completion, quality delivery and value for money.

INSPECTION ON PROJECTS

INSPECTION OF OFFICE COMPLEX

The Ablekuma West Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), together with Heads of Departments, has inspected the ongoing Municipal Office Complex project, which is currently 70% complete.
The MCE engaged the contractors and charged them to remain on site and expedite work towards completing the project by the end of the year, while maintaining the required standards.
Upon completion, the facility is expected to provide a better working environment for the Assembly and enhance municipal service delivery.
The inspection forms part of the Assembly’s continuous monitoring of development projects to ensure timely completion and value for money.
Communicating Progress.

INSPECTION ON PROJECTS

The leadership of the Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly, together with Heads of Departments, has inspected the soon to be commissioned Ablekuma West Polyclinic as part of the Assembly’s ongoing monitoring of major development projects.
The facility has been completed and is currently undergoing preparations towards its operationalisation and opening to the public.
The completion of the Polyclinic marks a significant improvement in healthcare infrastructure within the Municipality and is expected to enhance access to quality healthcare services for residents.
The facility will bring healthcare services closer to communities while helping to reduce pressure on existing health facilities within the Municipality.
The inspection forms part of the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring that completed projects are effectively operationalised and deliver the intended benefits to residents.

Maintenance and repairs works on some faulty mechanized boreholes in some schools within the Municipality


Through the efforts of the MCE and the Municipal Director of Education, the Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly has repaired some boreholes in the following schools within the municipality
Akweibu Basic school, St. Margaret Mary SHS.
Dansoman 1and 2 basic school Etc. This effort will ensure that water is adequately available at all times for the hygiene needs of both staff and students.

Disinfestation and Disinfection of public school within Ablekuma west

The Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly, in coordination with waste management partner Zoomlion Ghana Limited, executed an aggressive public health disinfection and disinfestation exercise across public schools, offices and dumping site within the municipality. Led by Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. George Kpakpo Allotey, the field operations were deployed to eliminate vectors, destroy micro-organisms, and secure the sanitation boundaries of key educational installations following severe seasonal downpours and local flash floods.
