– Sanitation: The Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly has been working to improve environmental hygiene through monthly clean-up exercises. The Municipal Chief Executive, George Kpakpo Allotey, emphasized the importance of community involvement in maintaining cleanliness.
– Malaria Education: the assembly’s efforts to improve sanitation can contribute to reducing malaria cases by eliminating mosquito breeding sites.
– Illegal Dump Site: The municipality is facing challenges with an illegal dump site at Gbebu Glife Gbegbeyise, which has been taken over by armed scavengers. The assembly is seeking help from the central government to address this issue, estimated to cost around 7 million Ghana cedis to clean up.
– Community Development: The municipality is working on various development projects, including educational infrastructure, security, sports, and social welfare initiatives, under the leadership of Hon. Kweku Addo.
