Young Livestock Farmer Emerges as 2023 Overall Best Farmer in Ablekuma West
Mr. Jonathan Lamptey, a 23-year-old livestock farmer from Shiabu, has been crowned the 2023 Overall Best Farmer in Ablekuma West. His impressive farm, which houses a total of 250 rabbits, 100 broilers, 150 Sasso birds, and 10 sheep, showcases his dedication to animal husbandry.
Mr. Lamptey's farm stands out for its organized and optimal conditions, ensuring the healthy growth and development of his animals. His hard work and contribution to agricultural production in the country were recognized at this year's National Farmers' Day celebration, organized by the Ablekuma West Municipal Assembly (AbWMA) on the theme "Delivering smart solutions for Sustainable Food Security and Resilience."
Alongside Mr. Lamptey, five other farmers were awarded for their outstanding contributions to agriculture in the region. The ceremony aimed to acknowledge and encourage farmers' efforts in ensuring food security and sustainability in Ghana.
