THE DEPT OF SOCIAL WELFARE HOLDS SENSITISATION EXERCISE ON DOMESTIC-GENDER BASED VIOLENCE

Domestic violence sensitisation

The Department of Social Welfare and Community Development held a sensitisation exercise on "The Impact of Domestic Gender Based Violence" for residents of Glefe and it's adjoining communities. The sensitisation which took place on Friday, September 10, 2021 at the Glefe GPRTU park was done in collaboration with the Municipal Health Directorate and the Domestic Violence Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Dansoman Divisional Police Unit.

The resource persons from the Health Directorate, DOVVSU and the Social Welfare Dept took turns to educate the participants on the dangers and impacts of domestic-gender based violence. The encouraged victims to do well to report cases of abuse as soon as possible.
